Drummer of the week...Cody Stewart of Serpents.

Check out this week's drummer of the week.   Cody Stewart of the band Serpents.
Cody’s kit is a 4 piece with a variety of different cymbal brands on it, the most visible is a Sabian crash and a Zildjian crash & hi-hats. I have tried to gather more info on Stewart with no such luck.
I haven't heard too much of them except that the singer Andrew Mikhail departed from the deathcore monsters Oceano, and formed Serpents.
Joined by Dusty Boles from Rose Funeral, Serpents have been designed as more of a studio project for the time being. As plans come together slowly -- with touring hopefully in the future.
The band describes their music on their Facebook page as:
"SERPENTS bring their infectious brand of venomous yet pulverizing music to the unsuspecting masses to bring you a new beginning of the end."

Listen, enjoy, and spread the love.
If you have any info on Cody Stewart or the band themselves, please comment and fill us in!! Thanx.

Drummer of the week....Chris Adler of Lamb of God

Chris Adler blew my f*cking mind last night. If you haven't seen Lamb of God you are missing a great live band. Chris was simply amazing! He is definitely one of the best metal drummers of our era. The energy this guy put's into his drumming is unsurpassed. I have no other words to truly describe his drumming. So I'm gonna leave it at that.

Paul Bostaph......back with Slayer

Paul Bostaph is "excited to be back" with SLAYER and is "looking forward" to hitting the road again with the band starting this week, the drummer revealed during his first interview since rejoining the group.

Bostaph recorded three albums with Slayer before he left the band in 1996 to concentrate on his solo project, Truth About Seafood, and was replaced by Jon Dette; however, he returned in 1997.
Bostaph departed from Slayer after the release of God Hates Us All, following a chronic elbow injury he had sustained that would hinder his ability to play. (although he later revealed that the actual reason for departure is because "Musically, I wanted to do something else".
This on-again/off-again relationship with the band has taken it's toll. However, he's back and ready to start a new chapter in the Slayer history books.

Besides Slayer, Bostaph has played with some other big metal bands, including:

Systematic (2003-2004)

Exodus (2005-2007)

Testament (2007-2011)

This also counts as the Drummer of the Week.

Drummer of the week....Brian Steele Medina of Gemini Syndrome

This week's drummer is Brian Medina of the band GEMINI SYNDROME.
Brought together by vocalist Aaron Nordstrom (former guitarist for OTEP), guitarists Rich Juzwick and Mike Salerno, bassist Alessandro Paveri, and drummer Brian Steele Medina (former TOIZ w/ Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch), this band is on tour with In This Moment, and Nonpoint.
I had the opportunity to see the band live in Madison, WI and I wasn't sure about them, since I have only heard one song. However, when they opened their set I was surprised. Brian is the only drummer since Shannon Larkin of Godsmack that actually entertained me throughout the entire show.
Throughout the show he had this charisma and excitement about him that kept me intrigued. The energy he has behind the kit is refreshing among some of the less exciting drummers I've seen lately.
He is not only a gifted musician, but he is also has a great showmanship quality behind the kit.
Very fun to watch and definitely worth checking out live!!
It was a great show and I look forward to seeing them again.

I know he's not a REAL drummer, but I saw this video and thought it was great. I had to share it.
Enjoy the video, laugh, and next time you're really bored....air drum to some Slayer!!

Drummer of the week....Avery Molek

This is something I've been wanting to do for awhile now, but I've been too lazy to start. So here is the Drummer of the week post!! Every week I will be posting a new drummer I feel deserves a little recognition. It may be from metal, country, jazz, whatever kind of genre. I'm not biased.
If there are any drummers you'd like to acknowledge, feel free to comment.

This week's drummer  is.......Avery Molek.

The young, drumming prodigy from Washington, Pa., is already a YouTube star, but now he's bringing his talents to a national audience. You may have seen his video of him playing Van Halen's "Hot For Teacher", which is amazing!!  Also check out Avery playing "Through The Never" by Metallica.  Only 6 years old!!!!
"Good Morning America" featured a story on Molek while country music star Brad Paisley was on the show, and he liked what he heard.
Paisley was so impressed that he asked GMA to invite Avery to join him for a live performance on the show.
This kid is truly in inspiration and great company in the drumming community.
